On Monday, I promised a player-by-player recap of the NFL Combine and an analysis of each player’s performance. Well, in my never ending quest to sabotage this website and make it suck, I didn’t produce.

So, what does this mean? First, I’m a disgrace. Second, Jacob Tamme is a lucky S.O.B. and ended up with his own special profile for a couple of days. And finally, you’re about to have the happiest hump day of all-time. If this NFL Combine report doesn’t make you want to throw on your #3 jersey and throw passes to yourself in the front yard, then you, sir, have no soul.

Andre Woodson - Woodson measured in at 6’4”, 229 pounds and had arm and hand measurements of 32 ½” and 9 5/8“, respectively. His arms were the 9th longest of the quarterbacks and he had the 6th biggest hands.Scout’s take: NFL scouts love the way Woodson throws the deep ball and the the way he is able to move in the pocket, considering his size. They are also impressed with his ability to read the defense and to manage the game. Woodson’s ability to play well against the Cover 2 and the way he hangs in the pocket and takes a hit rather than forcing a throw also intrigue NFL scouts.

The major drawbacks on Woodson, outside of his much publicized mechanical issues, is that he doesn’t have the leadership qualities that teams look for in a quarterback. They are also concerned with his tendency to fumble. As far as his mechanics, they worry that his slow release and that raising his elbow above his shoulder will put him at risk for a large number of sacks and that

NFL Comparison: Jason Campbell, but those who see him as a bust project him as an Akili Smith type QB because of his lack of confidence and questionable leadership. I don’t really have anything to add to theses comparisons other than I didn’t realize that the Jim Crow laws applied to NFL Draft prognostication.  Would it kill someone at some point to compare him to a white quarterback?  Or are these two guys so rare that there is no such comparable caucasion?

Woodson’s status is a bit up in the air right now. While most teams view him as the quarterback with the most upside, many also see him as a total bust. He can go anywhere from 15th overall to the end of the third round. How his draft stock moves in the coming weeks should be a good story to follow.
