Nick Calathes needs a new look March 6, 2008

Nick Calathes appears to be the type of guy who would call his clothes “gear.”  A simple google image search reveals, however, that his gear is whack, yo.

Also, his hair defies description.  Visual proof below.

First of all, when wearing an oxford-style shirt, about the worst undershirt you could wear would be a “ringer” tee.  Secondly, is that a second undershirt peeking out from beneath the red collar?  Third, does he have braces?  I guess this picture is old, but Calathes is the kind of kid who always looks like he has braces.

That’s the photo you chose?  They had to have taken at least 10 pictures that day, and that’s the smile you settled on?  That is more forced and awkward than your shot, Nick.  As for the hair, never, in the history of mankind, has the spiked-hair style looked good for anyone.  It’s like bad bangs for chicks–it always makes you wonder why they wasted their time.

Unfortunately, we are unable to see the full shot here.  It can be argued that this is a photo taken without his knowledge, leading to the blank, dreamy stare.  However, the chairascuro effect speaks to the contrary.  Is Nick Calathes a model?

Again, where the hell is he?  Was the photographer like, “great game, Nick.  Let’s get a shot of you in front of that plant at your hotel.  Perfect!”  The smile is just awful, and I think I detect some Sun-In.

Ah, the rarely used “handwritten paper” background.  I read the article that goes with this picture, no mention of the paper.  I guess he wrote it….and now he’s sitting on it.

“OK, Nick.  Give us tough guy!”

That’s all I could handle.  I’m sure his facebook profile is a gold mine.

speaking of these “color”-outs, Centre is employing this tactic at its first round game against Franklin on Friday night. it’s going to be a black-out in Sutcliffe’s Alumni Gym!!

In my world, a John Clay comparison is not something to be admired. I’m sure you guys agree.

From LHL circa 2006… in his “musings” column (which, by the way, what idiot editor okayed that for a weekly segment, sheesh!)

“Larry Brown anyone?”

Yep. That was the whole thought. And this ass clown gets paid to inform Central Kentucky on the sporting front… gimme a break

I was fully expecting a call out of the “n*%%@r lines” that he’s sporting these days. I hope Ramel knocks those right back to ‘92 on Sunday.

Oh I will.
